dell xps 9570 not charging despite new battery adn new charge adapter
XPS 15 9570
I have this XPS laptop since 2018, i was quite happy with it initially and then i spilled something and the GTX 1050 card stopped working. I was not hapy but i made my peace with it and moved on. Recently i noted that it doesnt hold charge at all and battery falls rapidly and the checks I ran showed that the battery needs replacing. I did that and since then i keep having issue after issue.
I placed new battery from Dell and since then it only managed to charge once; it works ok when connected. The past week, it didnt recognise the battery adn its super slow even when connected to teh power supply when it was not doing that before. I changed also the carging port, tried new charger and nothing seems to work. Now the system says that battery health is excellent but is just not bloody charging and I am gettign to me wits ends. I am in UK and apparently if i need to send it to Dell to be checked, I have to send the laptop to Germany and wait up to 4weeks for the diagnostics and this is ridiculous.
Is my laptop fried or am i missing something that i failed to do? I am exhausted and i will probably replace it with a mac as i am disappointed iwth Dell adn Windows laptops in general

The liquid spill likely damaged the mainboard. Whether you want to replace that on a system this old is a call you'll have to make.
If you do buy a Macbook, realize:
1. Parts prices are multiple times what they are for Windows notebooks.
2. Macbooks are even more integrated than most Windows notebooks (including the storage drive, which is soldered onto the mainboard).
3. Macbooks are no more (they're actually less) spill resistant than PCs.
There's nothing wrong with a Macbook, as long as you protect it with AppleCare for as long as you plan to own it. Any failure of an internal component will mean replacing a mainboard that will cost north of $1,000.

@ejn63 That spill was old, probably around 2020 but other than the graphics card, everything else was working fine. Its just that things started escalating since i replaced the battery. I used a Dell battery from their website and i was really careful relplacing it. The latop recognises it but the fact that it says that battery health is excellent but wont charge it, i have to say pushes my buttons. I just dont know what more i can do cause everything i found online and tried did not work so i am realising that now it might be motherboard problem.
For windows laptops what would you recommend? i want a mac now due to certain software i want for my work and less cause i think they more bulletproof

All notebooks are pretty much the same reliability-wise -- Macbooks included. Temper your expectations -- if you get 3-5 years out of a business-class notebook (Thinkpad, Latitude, Probook, etc.). you're doing well.

Solution for XPS 15 9560 but should work for 9570 too
Disconnect AC adapter
Unscrew backplate
Disconnect battery (dont pull out the socket totally , enough to see 'no battery connected' as u will push it back later)
Put backplate back but dont screw, put somewhere flat (table)
Connect AC adapter, reboot
Search BIOS update in DELL page and insert your model or service tag
Download BIOS and driver updates before CAREFULLY remove backplate (hold the laptop like an open book, make sure not to touch anything (AC power cable still connected)
With you nail push the Battery socket fully into where it is, put the backlate back, put it on the table
RUN the BIOS update and all FIRMWARE updates and DRIVER checks etc
It will reboot at the end and all should be OK , see you have the battery OK and has enough, close the laptop
Disconnect from AC power and flip the Laptop and put screws back
Connect AC adapter and wake it up (open the laptop)
Now it should work as normal , all updated and no more no battery connection or AC adapter not recongized :-)
