Dell XPS 7590 gone berserk

I wonder if anyone has experienced the range of problems I have had. Any solutions other than buying  a new laptop and throwing this one in the bin, would be greatly appreciated.

Above laptop has been great since purchase. Was working 100% fine and then I went on holiday. Left the laptop in a drawer, out of the sun etc in recent heatwave.

Came back from holiday, used it for a couple of hours and then everything started going wrong. All of the following started simultaniously:

In Excel, cant drag and copy into cells

Right click on touchpad works as if its the left click

Amber flashing light on front.

Wont work on battery, even though it says battery is 92%. In fact, even after plugging to mains it never rises above 92%.

Have tried to do Restore, but I just end up losing Apps. Have installed updates from Windows and Dell. Makes no difference.

, but at the moment its a pile of ****.

Thanks for listening.

Hi

An in place (over the top) install with a USB made with the Microsoft Creation tool?

Run a Live USB with Linux Mint or a rescue Disk.

Mint has LibreOffice and can open and edit excel files, just to prove if it's the OS or hardware.

If in doubt please ask.

These are symptoms of a swollen battery -- remove the base cover and check the condition of the battery.  If it's at all swollen, dispose of it immediately and order a replacement.
