Dell XPS 15 9550 WiFi Card Upgrade
Hi, I am planning to eventually upgrade the WiFi card in my Dell XPS 15 to the Intel AX200NGW WiFi 6 card. I disassembled my laptop today but noticed there were 3 wires on it instead of 2 like what the new Intel card has, not only that there is no marks to say which colour is Main and which is Aux, just a grey, white and black triangles. I thought my WiFi card was a Killer brand but now looks like its a Dell WiFi DW1830 model, not sure if these are made my Killer. Can I still upgrade this to a new Intel AX200NGW. Also is it easy to remove the wires that clip into the card. Thanks.

You can use a non-CNVio card with 2 leads, yes. White to white, black to black and leave the grey wire disconnected (you may want to cover it with electrical tape to prevent it shorting anything).

@ejn63 Ok thanks for your response, and the end of these wires clip into the WiFi Card.

Yes. They're not overly robust, so be careful with disconnecting and reconnecting them. Uninstall the network drivers for the existing card before you shut down to replace the card as well.
