Dell XPS 15 (9530) Screen Flickers at 60 Hz After Recent Driver Update

Hello Dell community,

I’m Mark (Named Removed for TOS Violation) After updating my Dell XPS 15 (9530) with the latest Intel graphics driver (v31.0.101.5163) from Dell’s support site yesterday, I’ve started seeing a persistent screen flicker, especially noticeable when the display is set to 60 Hz. The flickering doesn’t occur at 120 Hz, but the higher refresh rate drains the battery much faster.

Here’s what I’ve already tried:

  • Reverted to the previous driver version—no change.
  • Tweaked display settings, including adaptive brightness and refresh rates.
  • Verified Intel’s Power Settings in the graphics control panel.
  • Checked and updated the BIOS to the latest version available (2025-08-01).

Despite all that, the flicker at 60 Hz remains. Has anyone experienced this with the XPS 15 or similar Dell laptops? Could it be a driver/firmware conflict, or something deeper? Any suggested steps or workarounds would be greatly appreciated.

Thanks in advance for your help!
