DELL XPS 14 9440 - Booting from SD Card = BSOD (INACCESSIBLE BOOT DEVICE)

After enabling SD boot in BIOS, when I try to boot a windows 11 version from my SD I get a BSOD with stop code "INACCESSIBLE BOOT DEVICE".

If I use the exact same SD and put it in my Steam Deck windows boots with no problem (although logically, being a different HW, when windows starts up it reconfigure itself and takes a little extra time before booting up)

This proves that the system does not boot because of the laptop and not because of the content of the SD.....

Are there any extra settings I am missing in the BIOS?

Best regards,

Istarth

It may or may not be possible -- but if it is, there will be a setting somewhere in setup (F2 at powerup) to enable boot from SD.  Look under system configuration, probably in something like miscellaneous devices.

If that setting isn't there, it may not be possible at all.
