Dell XPS 13 9370 high memory usage with no programs running
Hello,
Like the title says, my computer uses a lot of memory before even running programs. I've factory reset numerous times, each time it starts at 50% memory and slowly goes up to 80% - 90% when opening chrome (at most 5 tabs - maybe 1 youtube or spotify). Running Windows Memory Diagnostics doesn't return any problems.
Normally this wouldn't be an issue, but before the last factory reset, I was unable to run Unity and chrome at the same time. The Unity project was small, wasn't running any scripts and had only 2 assets in the scene.
Is this level of memory usage normal and is there any way to optimize so I can run at least 3 programs at the same time?

1. I don't see anything unusual.
2. Some processes will run and use RAM after boot, but settle down once they have completed their routine jobs. e.g. Antimalware is part of Windows Security, updating definitions and scanning for malware. It's normal that it will be quite active for a time after boot.
3. As usual, Google Chrome is a memory hog.
4. Unused RAM is wasted RAM. You want the RAM to be used, as that will help your computer's performance. RAM that sits there unused doesn't help anything. Windows will manage when it needs to unload items from RAM to accommodate more urgent processes.
