Dell XPS 13 9370 "Alert! TPM device is not detected" - now can't get past BIOS 1.15
After several years of trouble-free usage, my Dell XPS 13 9370 today suddenly would not let me login with my PIN. A subsequent reboot led me to a white screen with the message "Alert! TPM device is not detected." Searching the internet suggest the TPM module is missing or bad.
Questions:
- is this a software or hardware issue?
- If hardware, where do I get a new TPM Module?
- if software, can I update it by installing a new BIOS?
- and if so, how do I install a new BIOS from the current BIOS?
Any guidance appreciated!

OK- I just had this too- scared the Sh.. out of me.
I found an old post about this, and it fixed it, but it's complicated in a way.
You have to run the battery all the way down until the computer will not turn on when you try.
-To do this I had to mess with the display and power options to not allow the computer to go to sleep or hibernate.
-Then let it run down, and it will turn off.
-When you go to turn it on again the no TPM notice comes on because the battery is not fully discharged, you go to diagnostics and run those and let the screen stay on at the end until the computer turns off.
-When you try to turn on again the keys light up, but the computer does not turn on.
-When you get to this state, push the power key and hold for 2 seconds or about.
Now, plug the computer back in and let it fully charge and when you turn on, it should boot perfectly (mine did).
As I said, after all these years of it working perfectly (it is my primary computer- full docking station with wireless keyboard and mouse and large monitor) this all of a sudden happened. Why- who knows but at least someone on here had the solution Thank God.
Hope this works for you.
All the best
