Dell XPS 13 9310 Wi-Fi
Dell warranty expired 10/9/24.
system reports an update today for system bios ( update 08/24 ) today 20/9/24
after reboot system sees the wifi card in device manager but wifi will not turn on or see any wireless networks.
called support and insult is that they now want me to pay for the repair. 10 days out and all working ok till bios update.
Rolled driver and bios back to no avail
reloaded with windows 10 & 11. all drivers updated via support assist and still getting no where.
changed network card settings as per dell tech to no avail.

Does Device Manager say the WiFi card is working normally or give an error? Does BT work even if WiFi isn't working?
Have you confirmed that Wireless Device is enabled in BIOS setup and that Control WLAN Radio is disabled in BIOS setup?
In DM, click View>Show hidden. Then look everywhere in DM for any "Unknown" device. If you find any, right-click and Uninstall. Then click Action>Scan for hardware changes. Then reboot and test WiFI again.
BTW: Since you reinstalled Windows, did you reconfigure your network settings so the WiFi card has permission to access the router? And did you reboot your router?

wireless device enabled and tried with control wlan radio enabled and disabled
no unknown devices in DM
All settings set as usual setup
when i click on globe to connect to wifi it shows wifi is off, turn on and look for wifi - does not show any in the area and then goes back to wifi off
updated bios and rolled back to old version
installed dell version of driver and intel
Dell - really need to get this sorted

Is it possible SupportAssist missed installing a driver(s)? Chipset drivers can be overlooked by SupportAssist because they're listed on Support page as Utilities. You may want to put in your Service Tag on the support site and manually look for drivers that may not have gotten installed.
Sure you configured the WiFi network correctly on PC after the OS reinstall(s)? Did you reboot the router?
Are other devices on your network able to connect via WiFi?
You may want to remove the battery, press/hold PC's power button for ~30 sec, and then reinstall battery to see if that can clear the problem.
Guess it's possible the WiFi died coincidentally with the BIOS update. So if nothing else helps, consider getting USB3>WiFi dongle.
