Dell Update app
Just recently got my Dell XPS 17 (9720) laptop.
I see that there is a Dell Update app to update apps, drivers, bios, etc. It may be launched from a service, but I cannot find an exe file. I can pin it to taslbar or to my start menu, but I keep an update folder on my desktop to launch various update programs regularly to keep my computer updated, but I cannot find a way to create an icon for this folder. Right clicking the app icon in my start menu or using windows start search, seems to give me the option to pin Dell Update to my taskbar or start menu, but not to my desktop, and does not have a “properties” option. Is there an easy way to create an icon on my desktop or within my desktop “Updates” folder to launch this Dell update app? Thanks

If you had told us what you tried in the beginning, I would not have wasted my time and yours suggesting things you had tried. You also didn't tell us what OS you have.
UWP apps are not normal executables, so they require different handling. The target is not an .exe. Don't try to drag the icon that is automatically created in the Start menu. If it is a UWP app, you must pin it to the Start menu. Then, click and drag (not right-click) the pinned icon (which will be in the right-hand area of the menu, not in the automatic menu on the left) to the desktop. That works for UWP apps on my Windows 10 Home.
Another method that works for me:
Press Windows key and R key together to launch Run dialog | type shell:appsfolder | Enter. That opens a folder containing your UWP apps and other apps | Right-click on an app | select Create shortcut.

I am using Windows 11 Home…….and it WAS NOT pinned to start menu originally. It was just in the App list…….with ONLY choices on Right click:
*run as admin
*Unpin from start (originally this said PIN)
*Pin to taskbar
*App Settings
*Rate and Review
*Share
*Uninstall
Once added to start menu……only right click choices:
Move to Front
unpin from start
run as admin
pin to taskbar
app settings
uninstall

Okay, maybe it's a UWP app. Pin it to the Start menu. Then, drag the icon from the Start menu to your desktop, which should create a shortcut.

I already had tried this. I was unable to drag and drop it from either the taskbar or the start menu.

I expect it may be something like Windows update which launches from a shortcut icon with ms-settings:windowsupdate as a URL and not an exe file. I just do not know the correct name to type. I did try to find some file with the same icon as Dell Update….and that search was not helpful either.
The ONLY thing in the Program Files\Dell\Update folder on the computer is a Readme file, which says basically nothing to help.
Otherwise, the folder is totally empty.
Any other suggestions? (short of calling Dell suport)

That is the problem. Right clicking on the icon DOES NOT give you a Properties choice or a Pin to desktop choice. That is what made me think that this may be some sort of Dell Update service running and not an .exe file being launched. I did look everywhere I could think for a Dell Update exe file as well, and could not find one.

The public authority has drawn out the limitations on the commodity of diesel and gas past Walk 31, Business News albeit the span is unspecified.Refiners were recently educated to focus on selling half of gas trades and 30% of diesel sends out domestically.The restrictions being considered are not a total prohibition on unfamiliar deals of oil based goods.
