Dell Laptop XPS 9315 Camera Not Working and Red light sensor always on

Hello Dell Support,

I represent a company that operates numerous Dell XPS 9315 laptops, and since the recent automatic Windows 11 update (observed most recently on August, 2025), every device has encountered the same camera issue. The camera is completely non-functional, the facial recognition sensor light stays on as soon as the machine powers up, the light becomes extremely hot, and the battery drains continuously.

We have tried every recommended measure, including installing the latest drivers and BIOS from Dell’s support site and performing a clean reinstall of Windows 11, but nothing has resolved the problem. Even when we contacted the support hotline, we were told the devices were out of warranty, so Dell could not provide further assistance. This forced our company to switch to another laptop supplier, leaving us with a large number of unusable Dell XPS 9315 units.

Please investigate and provide specific guidance to resolve the camera issue, and confirm whether this is a firmware problem triggered by the Windows 11 update. We hope to receive a prompt response to prevent additional losses for our business and to assist other customers experiencing the same situation.

Thank you in advance, Dell Support.

I believe delivering a timely fix will be a good step forward for the community.
