Dell insisting on two technicians, two visits, two payments to one house
I bought 2 Dell computers, one for my husband and one for me. I purchased the extended warranty for both of them. Both computers need the main battery replacing which apparently isn't covered under the warranty. We talked to the service rep about a Dell technician coming to do this onsite at our home. We were told that we could not have one technician come in and replace the battery in both Dell computers. We are required to pay for two different technicians to come to the same address both with the skill to replace the battery, possibly at the same time, possibly at different times. This makes absolutely no sense to me. We are willing to wait for both batteries to arrive at the technician's. Does anyone know how we can arrange to be home for just one visit, from just one technician? Below are the details of the two computers if it matters.
mine:
XPS 17 9700
32 GB memory
1TB SSD
my husband's:
inspiron 7706 2n1
16 GB memory
512 GB SSD

It's called flat-rate labor -- the technicians are paid by the job (and the two are separate jobs) so you pay twice either way. It'd be the same thing with a major chain repairing a washer and range.
You can order a battery from parts-people.com and take the systems to a local computer shop to have them changed, likely for far less than onsite.

For that matter, if you buy the battery from the repair shop, they likely would change it without a labor charge.
