Customer Service / Warranty Repair Dissatisfaction
|
|
|||
I have decided to send my laptop to a well-known repair shop.
It came back to me from Dell repair last time still buggy and not operating like it should.
Event viewer shows multiple errors and warnings
I can’t get it to upgrade to Win 11 Pro which it was upgraded to thru Update like I have in the past. Microsoft says I need to purchase win 11 Pro now
It still crashes and it started using one drive without my input or approval. Which is compounding the issue.
As I understand, this not an unusual problem with the XPS 17 9700 according to multiple sources.
This problem originated with your service repair center when they were supposed to fix an audio problem.
This was from service last June as it shows in your records
This was supposed to have been fixed during the many times it has been sent to your repair center and by the home tech visits
I am not blaming any one person, but the whole Dell repair/ warranty system.
I intend to write letters to corporate with evidence of this whole, six-month fiasco.
I will also talk about this on Social media.
Dell repair has ruined my laptop and forced me to go elsewhere for expert service.

You will need to find out exactly what the repair shop did to the system.
If the mainboard was replaced (which sounds likely), log into your Microsoft account for access to the Pro license you'd used before. Record the product key and deactivate the existing installation. That should allow you to activate the Pro license on the new mainboard.
