Can't reinstall OS on XPS M2010

I've tried reinstalling my OS with the original CD and a USB flash drive but after the POST I get a prompt in the upper right corner and nothing happens and no response to keyboard input.  I initially tried using the CD but my CD/DVD player is broken.  It's been a while since I've used my M2010.  I copied all the OS CD files to a USB flash drive but that doesn't work either.  Did I miss something in the copyover?  I rearranged the boot so the USB would be first.  Another note: Originally the hard drives were configured as a RAID. When I look in setup, they're not in RAID mode anymore--it says 'non-raid' disks.  Each of the two hard drives show as separate drives.  I also can't get into Configuration mode (CTRL-I).  Any help would be greatly appreciated. I love the giant screen and bluetooth keyboard.
