battery charging
I was recently traveling in India and Europe, and during my trip, the battery stopped chaging. My XPS 13 started showing a battery sign with a cross mark in it. I googled and found a series of steps to address the issue and nothing worked. I gave up and assumed I will have to wait till I came back to US to get it repaired. My conclusion was that the computer was unable to recognize the battery and something was wrong with the driver. The major inconvenience was I had to plug in with a dual adopter all the time, and just ignore the battery.
When I came back, the battery automatically started recharging and I was all thrilled that I dont have to go for repairs on my new laptop. I Googled again, this time asking whyI could not charge in India. It was simple. The adapter supplied by Dell could not handle dual voltage. I am still puzzled as to why I was able to plug in and use the same adapter.
Dell may consider supplying customers with dual volatage adapter at the original sale, to avoild this frustration
