130W USB-C Charger for XPS 15 9550?
Would a 130W USB-C charger work on a XPS 15 9550?
The 130W barrel type charger for this laptop is missing and the port is unusable right now (still needs to be checked but lets assume for this question, its broken). We're using a Dell 65W usb-c charger for now. It works but of course, the battery can't really charge fully.

No -- you need the barrel style connector to charge the battery.

If your previous charger was 130W, you can purchase a 130WUSB-C charger to connect to a USB Type-C port for power supply.
Because I previously purchased a Mokin 140W charger that powered my XPS 14 9440 through the Thunderbolt port.

If the system has a barrel connector, it's a 10 year old 9550 - it won't charge over USB-C.

Those old machines cannot charge with USB-C which is Thunderbolt 3.
130W chargers are widely available with fleabay and other overpriced vendors with a Dell plug or a Lenovo plug etc.
My old Lenovo P52 uses a 170W charger. So it gets the power pig award in my shop.
