XPS 8960, with GeForce RTX 4070 Super, new PCIe sound card?

Will a PCIe sound card fit into slot that is directly below the 4070 GPU card. It looks very tight. Will it block the cooling fan on this graphics card?

If it's a tight fit, you may consider external USB sound card.  Example of Sound Blaster 3 from Creative Labs.

Do yourself a favor and ditch the Realtek altogether and there is no reason to get a Soundblaster.

Your RTX4070 is also an HD sound card.

I did it last year and never looked back.

@Element115s4 OK. How do I connect my Klipsch 2.1 speakers directly to my RTX 4070? Do I need an audio extractor?

When I'm playing music from my Realtek audio and when I surf the internet at the same time, my music buzzes or hums for a split second. The more multi-tasking I do, the worse it gets.

I'm using external Klipsch speakers with subwoofer. I have one 3.5mm cable plugged into the sound card. I'm also using the Max Audio Pro Waves software.

Bios version 2.12.0 (9/18/24)

@jlsohio76

I just use my OLED LG's HDMI/ARC so it's easy for me.

I also use a 3rd party program called FXSound for my equalizer (works great and it's free).

I did have issues with the Realtek and its drivers which are just badly implemented even though I did get them working ok.

I decided to just disable that (wished I could just disable the onboard sound in the bios like the 8960 can).

HDMI is so much better for sound...it's not even a contest. :)

@Element115s4  OK, thank you for your reply.

I decided to use my Focusrite audio interface as my sound card. Plugged my Klipsch speakers into it. Using the equalizer from my Plexamp app. Sounds pretty good.

Cool.

It's not hard to improve on Realtek onboard audio. :P
