XPS 8960, Support Assist OS Recovery problem

I've been using the OS Recovery App to create repair points on my XPS 8960.

Each time it fills up the allocated space (18Gb) it stops with the error that it can't go on until I clear up some space for it but gives no indication of how to do this or even where it stores the data.

The only option seems to be turn off system restore and re start it.

Each time I've done this the initial repair point has got progressively larger until now one repair point is 19.1Gb and stops immediately.

I don't understand why it is doing this as there is very little installed on the PC.

Any ideas how to fix this?

If you Windows-search for the "computer management" app, open it, and select the "Disk Management" sub-app, you will probably be able to see the recovery partition.  Mine was just a little over 18G before I ruined it.  That would at least explain why you're getting the out-of-space error.  You might be able to shrink an adjacent partition and grow the recovery partition.  Perhaps someone more knowledgeable than me can confirm or deny that.   Good luck!

@Fluxxy Thanks for the reply.

I think the recovery partition is for a full OS recovery from scratch.

The SA recovery points are stored somewhere on the windows OS partition in a hidden folder (I think).

Thanks again .... Cheers
