XPS 8960 / RTX 4070 - Multiple Displays Will Not Work

Running brand new out of box Dell XPS desktop with 1k watt power supply. Desktop shipped with RTX4070 and a 450W power supply and initially thought this was the issue since minimum specs on Nvidia website calls for 650W. Repalced it with 1k watts ordered from Dell website. Frustrated with that but thats a different thread I suppose.

When attempting to connect four 4k displays at 60Hz (One LG 42" TV and three Samsung CU8000 65' TVs) only two will work. The CU8000 Samsung TV automaticlly support G-Sync. If I plug in monitor three, number two will drop power and three will come on. Same for monitor three and plug in number 4. Computer very choppy response and VERY slow. Windows making device connected/disconnected sounds when monitors plugged into display ports. I have tried using the Nvidia control panel configuring the displays but get the same result.

Specs:
Dell XPS 8960 1k watt PSU
Nvidia RTX 4070
Monitor 1: LG 42" TV connected via HDMI
Monitor 2-4: Samsung CU8000 65" connected via DP cable to HDMI adapter
HDMI cables - High Speed 8K 50' length

Any help is appreciated.

For power supply, customers have option to select 460w, 750w, and 1000w PSU (power options) at the purchase system configurations.  Checking with the graphics card options, it seems that 460w was the minimum requirement PSU for the RTX 4070.  As long as the PSU allocates enough power rail for graphics card (216w), the RTX 4070 should be functioning fine.  Since you have upgraded PSU to 1000w unit, it does not matter anymore.

For video resolution capabilities, I believe that your RTX 4070 can support one 8K monitor, or two 4K monitors or four 1080 FHD monitors.  You can try to add another monitor through the integrated graphics displayport.

you have to do the math so the GPU cannot exceed 7680x4320x60. For example, if you wanted to run 4 1080p screens at 240 hz it would be 4(1920x1080x240) = 7680x4320x60.  Also, try disabling Gsync support maybe causing you an issue.  If you can not use adapters straight DP to HDMI cables if you have to go that route are better than adapters.

And/or get an MST hub for the onboard Intel Graphics DP++ port that has direct outputs for multiple DP and/or HDMI monitors...

And keep in mind Dell's OEM GPUs, are typically designed to work with a smaller PSU than "retail" cards with the same NVidia RTX number. OEM cards may have fewer/different ports and/or fewer/smaller fans than the retail card.

Just for an update for you @Echo6Bravo

Nvidia RTX 4070 can drive 2 4k screens at 60hz

Nvidia RTX 4080 can drive 4 4k screens at 60hz

Nvidia RTX 4090 Can drive 4 4k screens at 120hz

This is non-gaming just normal use.
