XPS 8960, options for dead PSU?
I bought an XPS 8960 about 18 months ago for general use/some gaming, but it suddenly lost power and now longer switches on.
I've tried a different power cable and electrical socket, but when you turn on the power button:
- Main fan and graphics card power up briefly (<1 second): LED on the graphics card lights up, fans start moving, then stop and light goes out.
- Green light on the back of the power supply doesn't illuminate.
- Fans inside PSU don't move.
I'm assuming the PSU is dead - it came with a 12 month support warranty which I didn't renew as didn't expect to have hardware issues this soon.
PSU part/model is H750EPS-00, UP/N D750E013P - but I can't find anywhere on the Dell UK site to buy a replacement.
It looks like options are:
1 - Take my chances with ordering a compatible non-Dell PSU (eg. eBay) which I'm wary of doing.
2 - Send it back to Dell for out of support diagnostics for £44 - I'm assuming if there was a hardware warranty it would have expired, so would be charged for a new PSU + labour.
3 - Renew the support for 12 months - minimum of £111 - with option for a home visit? Presumably still charged for parts/labour - but not sure if I'm able to renew support now I've got a hardware problem?
I've had a Dell PC before (and we use them at work) but first time having this sort of issue, and not used the Support services before.
Any advice?

Before you say psu is definitely dead try a BIST of psu.

If indeed dead either option 1 or 2. If option 1 there is no non-Dell psu c/w 8960 so you look for a new or used 750w Dell psu for 8950/8960 https://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/388442978620?
if option 2 Dell may replace with refurbished psu

@redxps630 Thanks for the reply. No BIST button on my model unfortunately - just a green LED.
If I plug the power cable back in, the LED lights up very briefly (0.5 seconds - if that) before going off again, and staying off. If I press the power button - which triggers the main fan and graphics card fan to turn on (again, very briefly) - the PSU LED still remains off. It's literally just illuminates briefly when plugging in the power cable again.

You can do BIST of psu without a psu BIST button. Please refer to link I sent
