XPS 8960, no audio device found

XPS 8960

XPS 8960

Audio was occasionally dropping out, especially when streaming video. A few times there was buzzing and crackling. When the sound would quit, sometimes running Win11 troubleshooter would fix it but usually I would have to close work and reboot PC.  Got nowhere with support (they originally treated the problem as if I had a laptop, not a tower!) and they were having me do things I had told them I'd already done.  Now there's no audio, PC states "no device found".  I do voiceover work and use a Focusrite Scarlet Solo 4th gen for microphone input and headphone output. Have done a Win11 restore, made sure I had latest Dell drivers, Win11 drivers, and Focusrite drivers.  Nothing works, could the Realtek audio chip be bad?  I got the XPS 8960 new in October, replacing an XPS 8930.

* Restart Windows and as soon as you see black boot screens tap F2 to enter the BIOS setup
* Go to Advanced
* Find Enable Audio setting. Change to Disable Audio
* Press F10 to Save and Exit
* Allow Windows to boot

@DELL-Chris M Thanx, Chris!  I followed your suggestion and items are showing up in the lists, but there's still no sound and the Nvidia HD output is showing red arrows. I even did a Windows Restore/Repair and that didn't seem to help.

It would appear that I can get sound on the program I use for recording and editing audio, but an outside source, like streaming Netflix or YouTube videos, there's nothing.
