@gschmieder391 Good question. I only learned when I went to look at videos about setting up the device.

Not to worry!

This was already resolved by BIOS updates on the XPS 8960 to fix Intel's problems with 13th and 14th Gen CPUs.

So if you have any BIOS installed on your PC that's earlier than the latest BIOS 2.13.0 (which includes those fixes), install this update now.  Follow the installation instructions for Updating the BIOS from BIOS Boot Menu (independent of operating system) at that link.  PC will reboot itself several times during the process, and may appear to have shut completely off and isn't going to do anything.  Just leave it entirely alone until it's safely back at the desktop!

There is a lot of misinformation about the "Vmin shift" instability issue and the BIOS / microcode updates released by Dell and other manufacturers to try to mitigate it.

Just to clarify: these updates are an attempt to prevent CPU damage due to sustained over-volt / over-temp conditions caused by Intel's original flawed microcode. If your CPU is already exhibiting the known instability symptoms (frequent freeze ups, CPU-related blue screens, etc), that means it's already damaged at the silicon level, and will likely continue to degrade even further. All the BIOS / microcode upgrades in the world won't fix it. Your CPU is basically toast, and unfortunately the only solution is to replace it.
