XPS 8960, keyboard initialization error
I’m requesting that Dell add a BIOS-level toggle to suppress the “Keyboard Initialization Failure” warning on systems like the XPS 8960. This alert is triggered unnecessarily when using Bluetooth or delayed-initialization keyboards, despite full post-boot functionality. It interrupts workflows and undermines BIOS logic for users who intentionally operate without a wired keyboard.
Many Dell systems already offer a “Do not report keyboard errors” option under POST Behavior. This should be standardized across all desktop BIOS builds, including the XPS line. Please escalate this request to your firmware engineering team. A simple toggle would restore user autonomy and eliminate needless alerts for advanced configurations. I’m happy to provide reproducible diagnostics and configuration details if needed.
I hereby offer to beta test or validate any firmware changes
This affects Bluetooth-first workflows, which are increasingly common in modern setups.
