XPS 8960, does not Wake from Sleep to run tasks
My XPS 8960 doesn't wake from sleep to run tasks. It does wake from hibernation.
Wake timers are enabled in Power Options / Advanced Settings.
The scheduled tasks are set to "Wake the computer to run this task."
Is there a driver available for the High precision event timer (Device Manager / System devices)? It was suggested that this feature might be needed since the 8960 only uses the shallow sleep state S0. Its Properties show Disable Device as an option, so apparently it is enabled. But there is no driver.
Any other suggestions?

The system has settled into a permanent state - I hope. I'm running two monitors off the Displayport through a DP to DP + HDMI splitter - the best of three that I tried. The system is highly power-efficient in both Sleep and Hibernate modes, drawing only 0 to 4.6 watts.
The keyboard is plugged into a Smart Power On port, and Deep Sleep Control (Advanced / Power) disabled in the BIOS, so the keyboard can wake the computer. But it's strange - tapping a key brings the computer power draw up from 3 - 5 watts to 6 - 9 watts for a few seconds, and then it goes back to Sleep or Hiber - basically rolling over and going back to sleep. But another tap before it rolls over will wake it up further.
(Things are very different with a graphics card. Apparently there's an interaction with the monitor that affects how the computer boots and wakes up. And it draws a lot more power in Sleep with the graphics card, so maybe the processor is sleeping more lightly - albeit in the same Sleep 0 state.)
But running with just the Displayport, Sleep is just about as good as Hiber. So my final workaround is to set the system to go into Hiber after 4.5 hours. During the day it only Sleeps, so can be woken up in a few seconds by persistent key taps. My daily jobs are now programmed for 4:30 am, by which time it's sure to be in Hiber, so will wake up and run them. They still won't wake it up from Sleep.
Here's how it went with Hiber programmed at 60 minutes for test purposes. And - having learned more about the system than I ever wanted to know - I declare the problem solved: Power-efficient Sleep during the day with quick wakeup, and the daily jobs run at 4:30 am.

Have you read this thread and this one on Microsoft forum about using wake timers in Win 11?
Would a work-around be to configure the Auto Power settings in BIOS Setup to boot PC rather than using wake timers? And then schedule one or more "regular" tasks to run shortly after Auto Power On gets to the desktop. After the scheduled task(s) runs, PC would eventually go to sleep or hibernate, but not shut down completely.

@RoHe The backup did run the last couple of nights - since I got a replacement for my 15 year old monitor. Apparently monitors can interfere with sleep or hibernate states and waking.
I had implemented two workarounds - setting an alarm with the clock app, which did come up the past two nights, and scheduling a batch file which writes to a log and ends - that one didn't run today at 3:30 am but did yesterday - possibly because one of the other jobs had already woken the PC up.
Once this new system settles down, I hope a workaround won't be needed. In any event, a BIOS setting would be a desperate measure. But when I'm done poking at the wake from sleep issue - which I'd like to get right - I will set the system to hibernate after 1 or two hours. Then it will always be in hibernation at 3:30 am, and wake from hibernation has worked so far.

I had it on hibernate last night, but it didn't wake up to run the backup.
If this continues I will have to accept your BIOS workaround.

The system seems to have settled down and is waking up reliably from hibernate to run jobs. I've stopped using sleep state at night so don't know if it will wake from sleep.

Glad to hear that hibernation is working properly now.
