XPS 8960 and latest 24H2
As per title, has anyone installed the recent release of 24H2 and any problems?

Tested with clean install on a separate test drive. Many users reports of BSOD with automatically reverse and undo of upgrade. After a smooth install, you can remove test drive and perform actual upgrade knowing there is no conflict settings or incompatible device with your system.

Not me, not yet. In Windows Professional I always set a 120-day delay for new versions of Windows. I never want to be among the first to receive a new version of Windows.

I may be getting BSOD from this update. May be a conflict between my SSD, and the update. Am going to back out 24H2 in the morning and see if it fixes the problem.

@ChrisofAtl - Back up all your personal files and/or image the boot drive before you try to uninstall 24H2.
The list of bugs in this version continues to grow, so probably a good idea to hold off on this update until Microsoft gets a handle on their latest mess...

Just some info on MS forcing WIn11 24H2 on users:
This is on an XPS 8950 which is a similar Dell to the 8960.
While the update succeeded, I did have to intervene with a power cycle after a black screen went nowhere midway.
The XPS booted with a bios related msg that it has disabled any O/C features (not exact wording) after 3 boot attempts.
I was planning to do a fresh install anyway soon so it's not a big deal but I am still curious if a BIOS update would have helped before this (I'm running v1.20 and v1.24 is the latest).
While I have seen some O/C related 'adjustments' before on this 8950, this was the first one related to a Windows update.
Obviously, many PC's are affected by Win11 24H2 so I guess I shouldn't be surprised.

Any help appreciated. Unable to install 24H2. Tried all the suggested solutions without luck. Always stops around 65% and then "Rolls back and undoes changes." I tried with regular update and with Update Assistant, no luck. And just tried with an .ISO re-install of Windows, got the error 0xC1900101 – 0x40017 "installation failed during the SECOND_BOOT phase due to an error during the BOOT operation." Here's the link to the setipapi.dev.log found at C:\\$Windows.~BT\\Sources\\Rollback (I couldn't decipher it-it says "EXIT Status: Success BOOT" or something like that for every event recorded in the log file): https://www.dropbox.com/scl/fi/k0fck39hd72r2lb7itb1c/setupapi.dev.log?rlkey=18swd8mm42toxj32cs1iqkp7j&dl=0
Thanks in advance. Hard question is whether it is essential or leave the machine at 23H2. BTW I did Image the main OS drive just in case something goes wrong before I attempted this.

I've had 24H2 running on my 8960 for a few months now with no apparent issues.
It was installed via standard Windows update without error.
Not a lot of use to you sorry but thought I'd throw it in being the original poster.
Best of luck with it.

Thank you. Yes it installed seamlessly on my Precision 3680 too. I kind of semi retired the XPS 8950 but want to keep it as a backup machine and so want to keep it updated. Maybe I’ll try a clean install and see or reset Windows preserving my personal files but then it is a pain to reinstall all the Apps.
