XPS 8960, 2nd monitor not working
I have an XPS 8960 with an RTX 3070 Ti graphics card and U2713 Monitor connected by Displayport, running Windows 11 Pro. All this works OK. I have a second monitor (Dell 2005FPW) connected by DVI/Displayport adapter cable to the RTX 3070 Ti. The monitor is recognized in the Nvidia control panel and windows display settings, but does not show an image. Confusingly, it is given the same name as the other monitor - U2713H. Nvidia control panel says first monitor is HDCP compatible, but second monitor isn't. Both monitors worked fine with my previous XPS 8500 with on-board graphics.

Check Physical Connections:
Monitor Input Source:
Multiple Display Mode:
Graphics Driver Update:
Monitor Driver (if applicable):
Graphics Control Panel Settings:
Monitor ID Conflict:

What would be the result of both monitors are connecting to the RTX card.

@Chino de Oro
If both monitors are connected to your RTX graphics card simultaneously, it typically results in an extended desktop setup, where you can use both monitors as one large display area or for multitasking. Here's what you can expect when connecting two monitors to an RTX graphics card:
Extended Deskmargin: 0;">Independent Displays: Each monitor functions as an independent display, allowing you to run different applications or tasks on each screen. For example, you can have a web browser open on one monitor while working on a document on the other.
Display Modes: You can configure how the two monitors work together through your computer's display settings. Options include extending the desktop, duplicating the display (mirroring), or using one monitor as the primary display and the other as an extended secondary display.
Resolution and Refresh Rate: Your RTX graphics card should support various display resolutions and refresh rates, allowing you to choose the settings that best suit your needs and the capabilities of your monitors. Ensure that both monitors are set to their native resolutions for the best image quality.
Gaming and Multitasking: If you're a gamer, having two monitors can enhance your gaming experience. You can play games on one screen while monitoring chat, streams, or guides on the other. Some games also support multi-monitor setups for a more immersive gaming experience.
Productivity: For productivity tasks, having two monitors provides more screen space for working with documents, spreadsheets, code, or any other applications. This can improve your workflow and efficiency.
Media and Entertainment: Two monitors can also enhance your media and entertainment experience. You can watch videos or movies on one screen while browsing the web or managing your media library on the other.
Graphics and Video Editing: Graphic designers, video editors, and content creators often benefit from a dual-monitor setup. It allows for better workspace organization, with one monitor dedicated to the main project and the other for toolbars, previews, or reference materials.
Overall, having two monitors connected to your RTX graphics card can significantly improve your computing experience, whether you're working, gaming, or enjoying multimedia content. It provides additional screen real estate and flexibility for various tasks and applications.
