XPS 8950, upgrade to RTX 3600, PSU question

So i would like to change my RTX 1660 super to a 3600 one, i did some research i i found out that i needed to change my power supply (i got a i7 12th)of 460w and i needed to change it to 550w, so should i change my power supply to use the rtx 3600 or do i keep it?

do you have XPS 8950?

standard config RTX 3060 i7-12700K

Load Wattage:483 W
Recommended PSU Wattage:533 W

you can use the 460w psu if you skip HDD and DVD which are mechanical devices that use some power.

Load Wattage:429 W
Recommended PSU Wattage:479 W

Redxps gave recommendations/suggestions.  It's ultimately up to you if you want to change the PSU or not.

HDD's and DVD drives consume little power.  Safest bet is too change PSU for the higher power one.  Since the 8950 doesn't take a full-size ATX PSU, have @redxps630 suggest/recommend a higher watt PSU.

keep the 460w psu.  let the community know when you are successful running 3060 on it.

Lesson for new buyers: Always buy the biggest PS Dell offers for the model.

Better to have it and not need it vs the other way around.
