XPS 8950, strange message
<Forum note. Always add the PC model to your thread title. DELL-Admin>
I was running support assist monthly as usual but this time it flashed up somewhere that my SSD was failing so i then ran the full diagnostics from the Dell support and everything checkout fine.
But now when i boot the machine i get the message below and it stays there until i press the Esc button twice and it boots up normally.
Any ideas would be appreciated.

In the BIOS check your Boot Menu and make sure that Windows Boot Manager is the first item on the list. It is possible though that your SSD is showing early signs of failure. I would backup the boot drive as a precaution.

If you searched here in this forum site for 'pxe over ipv4' you would have found many posts and the answer probably. Here is a recent one, https://www.dell.com/community/en/conversations/alienware/17-r4-pxe-over-ipv4-error-on-startup-after-failed-windows-10-fresh-install/6500b4d4f60c152b2cff691a
It more than likely is that Network booting 'IPv4' is on the list of boot devices or even enabled in your BIOS.
Since you didn't disclose the exact Dell model (assume it is an XPS) specific instructions other than check the BIOS boot order can't be provided. It is always wise to provided the PC model and any post.

If it's trying to boot via PXE, it's possible the motherboard battery died and BIOS settings got scrambled. So I'd replace that battery, before doing anything else.:

@RoHe Now that i think about it, when i ran Support Assist it did a BIOS update.
It was after that that the message started appearing.
I will go into the BIOS and check.

Did you replace the motherboard battery?
You probably should do that before checking BIOS because removing the battery, as above, will reset BIOS to its default settings.
