XPS 8950, sluggish performance after KB5030310

XPS 8950 w/i9-12900k and NVIDIA 3080Ti

Was pushed BIOS 1.14.0 and Win11 KB5030310  over a 2 day period.  PC performance has been painfully sluggish.  Windows Explorer and Start menu freezes frequently.  Google Chrome is extremely sluggish.  Opening programs in sluggish.

Did full hardware diagnostics through boot menu, no issues found.

Tried rolling back to BIOS 1.13.0 and rolling KB5030310 back, but symptoms persist.  Tried rolling back NVIDIA driver to last Dell published version (536.19), symptoms persist.

Rolling back to BIOS 1.12.0 and doing a clean Windows install on KB5030219 and NVIDIA 536.19 driver helped some, but system is still more sluggish than it was last week.

Any further suggestions on how to mitigate?  It's hard to believe that a forced software update could bork things so badly.

I was able to resolve the issue - the installation of BIOS 1.14.0 triggered a BD PROCHOT signal, locking the processor at 0.38ghz.  Resetting the signal (turning off the PC, press and hold power button for 30 seconds) restored the full processor speed.  I've subsequently been able to go back to BIOS 1.14.0 and reinstall the windows updates with no issue.

It seems to have been a fluke during the BIOS update.

FWIW, I have been using the Dell bios capsule update method via Win11 updates after a clean Win11 install of 22H2 and the 8950 has been rock solid and flawless.

I do disable the WiFi as I don't use it at all.

Just installed v1.15 so we shall see if I jinxed myself.

BTW, does Dell put out an actual bios change list so we can easily see what is being fixed/added?

I am so used to Intel doing this.
