XPS 8950, is the Killer WiFi really 6G?

The XPS 8950 has the Killer 1675x M2 pcie card which purports to be 6G. But when I checked the specs on the Dell web site it shows is it only supporting the 2.4GHz and 5GHz bands. So where is the 6G? At this point I am assuming that is why I cannot pick up the 6G band coming off my router despite updating my Bios, Killer drivers and verifying on another 6G capable device that the router is actually broadcasting the 6G band.

Unfortunately, the Killer 1675x in XPS 8950 does not support 6G according to Dell response from this thread  https://www.dell.com/community/en/conversations/xps-desktops/xps-8950-killer-1675x-tri-band/647f9b52f4ccf8a8def314ea

@Chino de Oro

I should have been more accurate. My 8950 has the AX1675x card which, based on what I have found elsewhere on the web, supposedly does support 6GHz. As noted above, my Bios is current as is the Killer driver and I know the router is broadcasting the 6GHz band but the card still isn't picking it up. Same issue as the base 1675x?

@RickCma

I've been at it for over a week between the updates and trying what I have seen as suggested fixes elsewhere. I'd love to know if there is a fix, but I'm going to resign myself to ordering the 1750be and swap the cards.

@RickCma , the response from Dell in that thread was for Killer card with Dell part number 0K1R3, which was a tri-band AX card, same as yours.  The card itself should support 6G frequency by manufacturer but it was limited by Dell, either by firmware or driver.

I could only provide answer to your topic in this thread.  Choosing to upgrade to WiFi 7 as a solution is all up to you to decide.  Just be sure to upgrade your router to support it.
