XPS 8950, HDMI to S2721DS inexplicably lost

I am unable to use my computer because the monitor is not receiving a signal from it. I have disconnected and reconnected the cables, but that has not helped. Please advise.

Does your XPS 8950 have a discrete video card?  If yes video cable should be connected to the card directly, not on board integrated video port.

Dell 27” monitor has hdmi and DP.  Try use DP to DP video cable no adapter.

@redxps630​, thanks for your prompt response. I have had this computer for two years and have not changed the connection. What is suddenly causing this problem? And do I need to get another cable?

In that case your pc might have has an automatic bios update without your knowledge and caused a no post issue.  If still within warranty contact Dell support to troubleshoot.

You didn't say whether you have an add-in video card and if you do, did you confirm the monitor cable is connected to that card, not to the onboard Intel HDMI port?

Can you test this monitor and its cable on a different PC or a different monitor and its cable on this PC?
