XPS 8950, 1000w PSU noise issue
I replaced the power source with a 1000w power source. I am having the same issue with High pitch sqeeling noise when under load. usually when GPU kicks in.

XPS 8950 1000w psu?
The high pitch sound you are hearing is commonly known as coil whine . Don't worry it does not mean your psu will have major problems. When the psu is under a certain load it can make a sound. It can be unpleasant to some.

I just bought the 1000w PSU for my dell 8950/ I have a AMD 6900 xt processor. When under load it makes a unnatural squealing noise. Its noy the fan.
