XPS 8940 won't power on, #10
<Do not reply to old post. Started your own post. DELL-Admin>
I replaced the XPS 8940 power supply with a Dell power supply and it did not come with a reset button on the power supply unit. When I plug it in, there is no sign of life whatsoever. I checked the power cord and it’s getting power. It’s just not showing any sign of life whatsoever. Could it be the on off switch gone bad?

If there's no sign of activity at all -- including no power LED on the mainboard -- the odds are overwhelming that the mainboard is faulty, not the power switch.
