XPS 8940, WD SN740 M2 SSD only 900MB/s read write?
Why does CrystalDiskMark display my WD SN740's read and write speeds as only 900MB/s on my XPS 8940 desktop, while it registers over 3000MB/s on another PC? Could there be specific settings within the XPS 8940 BIOS that I need to configure to optimize performance?

I've updated to the latest BIOS version and the latest firmware version as well. All drivers are up to date. CrystalDiskMark shows 900MB/s on my XPS 8940, but it shows 3000MB/s for the same SSD in another PC.

Is it fair to compare SSD R/W speeds for the same drive in different PCs, unless all the hardware, version of Windows, etc are identical?
Is the WD SN740 SSD a Dell OEM SSD or is it a "retail" SSD that you installed?
