XPS 8940, no video output

Hello,

After changing the CMOS battery on my XPS, I have no video output.  My screen is connected via an HDMI cable.  I did try another cable, but this did not solve the problem.  The Geforce video card has a single HDMI out.

I believe the monitor is fine because it is displaying a message telling me that it is not receiving a signal.

I'm not sure what to do next.  Does anybody have any ideas they could share.  I'd really appreciate the help.

Thank you.

Try removing the GPU card and use onboard graphics.  If that works, you need a new GPU card.

Press and hold the power button for 30 seconds. The computer RTC  reset  occurs after you release the power button. NOTE: The RTC reset is aborted if the power button is held for less than 25 seconds or more than 40 seconds. The RTC reset restores the BIOS to defaults and resets the computer's date and time.

Thank you!

Is this the correct location?   I tried the circled HDMI out port and am still not receiving a video signal.

(Not my photo - burrowed from another post)

Any other ideas?

Doug4863 and  bradthetechnut;

I am up and running now!  It's really awesome.

I must admit though, as foolish as it is,  after checking my HDMI cable and found that it was not connected to the monitor.  Duh I know.  I think there is an issue with the video card and did not know there was onboard video.  I'm sorry and apologize for th inconvenience.

All the best,

Doug.
