XPS 8940, intermittent buzzing sound, unresponsive and sluggish
Hello,
I am experiencing an issue with my sound on my XPS 8940 Intermittently. It only happens on and off. I am experiencing a sudden buzzing sound and my PC becomes unresponsive and sluggish. Some times I experience a phasing effect sound and then my PC becomes unresponsive and sluggish. I reinstalled my Realtek sound drivers from the DELL support page for my model PC. I ran DISM and SFC. I got rid of old drivers and programs I don't use that are falling out of compatibility. I am running Windows 11 25H2. My BIOS is 2.27.1. I installed all critical updates from SupportAssist. SupportAssist hardware scan passes on all points. In my sound settings I have all sound enhancements turned off. I was hoping for more updates from Dell, but I think the 2020 XPS 8940 is falling out of it's support range? Any and all advice appreciated!
Thanks,
Michael

I have had some sound issues as well. Hard to describe, like a buzz or cracking sound when a WAV file or a Program intro would play. Lasts for a second and all is normal after that. Can go for days without it happening.
I suspect another program with had the sound device and it takes time to get it for the program that needs it?
I've never seen the PC become unresponsive with that?
However, occasionally I've had my XPS8940 seems 'slow' on mouse clicks or starting a program from a desktop icon. Task Manager doesn't show high CPU or RAM usage. I am beginning to suspect my Router and I have had the Vendor Support look at the system and they didn't attribute it to the F/W of the Deco I have (TP-Link BE68) and one specific IoT that doesn't respond to the Deco checking if it is on-line. It is a transient problem though, no always a problem. They are working to fix it.
