XPS 8940, Intel i1650i Bluetooth appears NOT to be working, was before?
I was trying to use Intel's Unison to connect my iPhone to my XPS... it started, filled the screen and started to load my phone and exited. Repeated it and it did it again? I tried a few times using the QR code to link the XPS and Phone via the program, and the CORRECT letters show. However both the XPS and iPhone app put us a failure message.
So I go to the Bluetooth settings and ADD DEVICE, can't see my iPhone? Checked another phone it can see my iPhone. XPS can't see either phone now as well.
Assumption is the W11 XPS Bluetooth on the AX1650i, so I check Intel and it is a 6/23/23 driver that I have as well, but uninstalled the BT, installed the same driver, and rebooted.
Still can't see it on the iPhone nor can the XPS see the iPhone.
Ran the Troubleshooter... lengthy bunch of questions, but it found no problems?
I also installed the MS Phone Link that now supports an iPhone... it crashes trying to create a QR code on the XPS.
Can't find anything of value in the Event Viewer?
This (Intel Unison) did work a few weeks ago?
Not sure why, or what to try? I've uninstall all programs on both XPS and iPhone and reinstalled them. Cold booted both a few times?
Just checked my iPad, it can see the iPhone but NOT the XPS as well?
Suggestions? Could the card have gone bad? How to really test it? Support Assist didn't find any problems?

Never mind...
Found out a program I recently loaded, Glary Utilities I think did it, on a scan offered to 'turn off' unneeded Services...
Well, Bluetooth Support Services was turned off, set to Disabled. Set it back to Automatic and the started it.
iPhone connects now... problem solved.

Does AX1650i BT show any error code in Device Manager?
Click View>show hidden on DM toolbar. If you see an 'Unknown' listed anywhere in DM, right-click and uninstall it. Then, without rebooting, click Action>Scan for hardware changes. See if BT works now.
Also try this...
FWIW, sometimes when you uninstall an app, it leaves some (corrupted) files behind that can interfere when you reinstall the same app because the leftovers don't get over-written.
If you haven't already done it, you might want to use Revo Uninstaller (free) to uninstall the apps again because it will help you clean out any leftovers. Then reboot and reinstall the apps again..

Hi Ron,
As you can see above, I discovered the 'problem', and others too... for instance Indexing Service was turning off too.
I did all you suggested too, and more... only discovered this with a single web page that suggested the service didn't start and to check the Event Viewer and didn't find any errors, and then looked at Services... sure enough, it was disabled.
Found a few more too, Indexing and VSS.
It MIGHT not have been Glary Utilities either? I restore what it changed before deleting it. Those were NOT restored? Could have been another program that did it? Suspect others as well might still be a problem in settings. Checking everything now. Event Viewer is my 'best friend' here.
As you can see in it, I cut down SIGNIFICANTLY entries from yesterday to today...
I think I got the last of them too...
Some program can be to 'aggressive' if 'cleaning/speeding up/optimizing' a PC. Yes, they do provide lists, but two things wrong with that, most are LONG and one tends not to read or read too closely the items, and some items it wants to 'remove/change' are not clear what the ramifications are to allowing it to happen.
Others, I guess I was too lazy and assumed it was safe... and yes it was in that it didn't stop the PC from booting and basically working, but it did do some 'harm'...
I must learn to not mess around with these programs and yes, I had a back-up, but when I discovered the underlying problem a week later, going back to that back-up may not be the best option.
Thanks for the suggestions though.
