XPS 8940, Headphones work, microphone does not

I have an XPS 8940 and my mic doesn't work. I have a 3.5mm jack in the front and the headphones work, but the microphone doesn't. When I go into the system>sound settings, I can see the jack is being used for mic input, but when I do the test it registers as 0% and i can barely hear anything. I've tried 3 different headsets that work on my Xbox and laptop, made sure to choose headset on the MaxxAudio Pro app, reinstalled a Realtek driver, but nothing is working. Any ideas?
