XPS 8940, freezing stopped until latest updates

Freezing stopped until latest updates, now it freezes when I watch video reels on Facebook. The random freezing while using Lightroom & Photoshop finally stopped, but now after the latest BIOS updates my XPS 8940 freezes when I watch Facebook reels. A video card issue, I'm guessing?

Very likely that MS updates will install the driver supplied by Dell.  But, can't say for certain as other users machines  settings could be different from mine as I don't use or install any of Dell Assist support tools.  If you want to be certain, just download the latest drivers from Dell and launch for installation, select the box clean install to remove all previous drivers.  It will work just like the process other users uninstalled with DDU (display driver uninstaller) prior to new driver installation.

There is a thread with latest BIOS discussion.  Dell is checking to see if lockup issue was related to the firmware.  nVidia graphics drivers are also reported as direct impact to the problem.

Suggestion that works so far:  update to the latest BIOS, use the latest nVidia driver from Dell support site.  Set power option to high performance from Windows control panel and nVidia control panel (manage 3d settings =>  power management mode =>  prefer maximum performance)

@Chino de Oro Rookie question, but if I update my GeForce 1660 ti driver by uninstalling in device manager and restarting, is my PC grabbing the update from Dell?
