XPS 8940 CPU fan/cooler error 2000-0511

So, I have upgraded my XPS 8940 to the special edition spec.  Intel i7 11700k CPU - 500w PSU - Voltage regulator heatsink and the K type CPU cooler/fan + A bigger Noctua case fan. this is the problem: When I fired it up today it went straight into testing the CPU fan, and gave the error code 2000-0511 (see pic) "CPU fan failed to respond correctly, now, I know that the fan is running, and temperatures look fine on Speccy. It also appears that the new Noctua fan is also not recognised, but again, it is running. The problem is that the error keeps coming up and prevents me from entering Bios, either through the "F2 keys, or through the command prompt. I assume that I may be able to cure the problem if I can access Bios (version 2.16.0). I have also read that there is another way of connecting the fans on the MBO which could fix the problem. Any advice would be greatly appreciated.

Try delete SupportAssist from your pc.  You can test new premium Dell tower cooler fan using ePSA too if that is an option on F12 after power up.  SA is Dell bloatware AI and can cause unnecessary trouble sometimes.

your new cooler fan is connected to cpu fan header correctly. Noctua chassis fan may trigger startup error which is a known issue.

@redxps630 Thank you for that. I just checked the CPU fan header connection, and I had completely missed one of the pins. It is so tight in there, nevertheless, I made a schoolboy error! Much appreciated your reply, fired up without error now, will see how it goes.

Update: I am now up and running, and so far all is quite and

well. Just for info, and after reading up on here, it is the consensus that fitting a non-dell case fan is a non starter, as Dell cleverly screws up the wiring on the MBO headers and connectors thus making sure that we buy parts and spares from them. I also removed the Nvidia Eagle 3060Ti (which was also causing problems) and replaced with a Dell 3060Ti OEM. All my upgrade components are therefore Dell validated, except for the Noctua fan which wasn't recognised in Bios, and have now removed and replaced with the Dell original case fan. I have been with Dell for over 25 years, but next time I am jumping ship, just can't do with the hassle!

It's not a fan issue, if you are using a fan on the CPU that is below 2000 rpm it will fail the Dell test.  and on the sys, anything below 2300 will fail the test. But the system will work fine.
