Intel® Arc A750 LE has a Total Board Power (TBP) specification of 225w. Suggested power supply of 550w. Card's power connectors are 1 x 8-pin and 1 x 6-pin.
Beside the dimension fitments, you need to check your current power supply for power requirements.
The XPS 8940 I assume you have the version with the 500-watt power supply, came with a 3060 ti and or a 3070, which had a maximum wattage of 220 watts 5 watts lower than the Intel card. You should be ok. The chances of your GPU and CPU pulling sustained load at the same time for any given extended time frame is minimal at best. Benchmarks show that card pulls 209 watts on average during gaming, about 9 watts more than the RTX 3060 ti, which is the entry-level card for the 8940.
Unfortunately, not easy to do. Dell strikes again. Power supply is FAR from a standard size and I haven't been able to find one for a reasonable price. They are all very expensive. Guess I'll have to live without the graphics card.
Purchased a 500W Dell power supply and installed it. Also installed Arc a750 graphics card. A750 needs a 6 plug power cable And an 8 plug power plug. Power supply seems to have only a 6 plug. Do need an adapter or is the card incompatible?
Intel says I need a 600W power supply. Hope it works.
A per article Intel® Arc™ A-Series Graphics – Desktop Quick Start Guide it will be necessary the following components to have a good performance with your GPU:
Power Supply Requirements
Power supply requirements may vary, please check the manufacturer for specific details.
Intel® Arc™ A770 Limited Edition and A750 Limited Edition Graphics:
Minimum 600W power supply with two PCIe power connectors – 1x8-pin & 1x6-pin.
Considering Dell was shipping those 11700 systems with rtx 3070s, you should be fine the 5-watt difference isn't going to be make or break. I assume since you had the 360-watt PSU you have the non-K 11700, which can pull a peak of 230 watts but averages peaks in the 160-185 range and averages 70-101 watts while gaming.
OK. Dell strikes again. The 500W power supply came. The longest wires have two white connectors that go on the top side of the motherboard. On the 360 watt power supply they are designated P2 and P4. The 500 watt power supply has no such designation. Are they interchangeable?
Also, the power supply to the video card has two six-pin connectors and a two-pin connector how do I figure out which one goes where in the video card?

Dell let me down again. I afraid I have only the 330W power supply. Guess I'll have to swap that out as well.
Thanks.

Think I figured it out with the help of Intel. Anyway, the Arc A750 is in my XPS 8940 and seems to be working.
Thanks for all the help.
