XPS 8940, compatible 600W power supply, replace stock 500w
XPS 8940
Hi. Is there a compatible 600W replacement power supply for the Dell XPS 8940? I am looking to buy a 600W DPS-600EM-00 Power Supply. The description claims it is compatible. Stated connectors are "motherboard 8Pin, CPU 4Pin, graphics card 8(6, 2)Pin, 8Pin".

Buyer should stay away from all untrustworthy psu carrying that “DP/N”.

That eBay site has incorrect data.
T8M40 (off of that label) is not a valid Dell part number.
The XPS 8940 never sold with a 600w PSU. Max was 500w.
The Optiplex 7040 never sold with a 600w PSU. Max was 240w.

So does that mean this aftermarket power supply is not compatible?

not sure how that psu has a official looking Dell oem label but there are a few fishy features
ebay pic has a white 8 pin (7 wired) which was only seen in 7040 Inspiron 3650, definitely incompatible with white 6 pin of 8940
Chris said the "DP/N" does not exist, at least not in official Dell part number data base. does this mean it is a bootleg fake oem psu?

if the same "DP/N" is used in two different labels, at least one is counterfeit

Ok folks. I think we have consensus here. I will avoid these PSUs like the plague and stick with the 500W I have.
Thanks to everyone!
