XPS 8940, buying a video card

Question

I'd like to buy a video card for my XPS 8940: RTX 3060 12GB

I am hesitant to buy elsewhere since there are so many varieties of this card. Some are way to big to fit in the case. Others are too power hungry; etc

Any chance that Dell can sell me one at a reasonable price? I've read that the RTX 4060 is coming out soon and there is a huge inventory of RTX 3060 to clear out so maybe this is a good time to buy in spite of the fact prices vary greatly.

The online XPS 8940 Parts & Upgrades page does not show any video cards.

You will need to search the web for the Dell XPS 8940 OEM RTX 3060 part numbers looking for a seller =

Chat w Dell on line sales for stock availability and pricing. This forum is generally for user helping user and most users do not work for Dell. You can also buy dell oem gpu on eBay. Seller said the card came with prebuilt Alienware Aurora R10

thanks, that is valuable info. I have a question though,  does OC in the card description mean Over Clocked, meaning more heat and power, meaning shorter life span?

Dell oem rtx 3060 clock follows nvidia reference spec.

Dell: Base Clock 1320 MHz Boost Clock 1777 MHz

Nvidia: base: 1320, boost: 1780

There is no factory overclocked applied on Dell rtx 3060. User can however overclock the card.

Overclocking a GPU can cut down its lifespan some, but that's purely determined by just how much you overclock it by and how often you play on it, and how long.
