XPS 8930, upgrade 2TB SSD to 4TB or 8TB?
XPS 8930
I have two hard disks that are original in my XPS 8930. I use drive C for bootup, applications, and windows, while drive D is what I use for storage of files. Drive D is a 2TB SSD that came from Dell (the original one). I would like to upgrade my existing SSD to a 4 or 8TB one. Is this possible? I've never tried something like this, so any advice as to what I need to do would be greatly appreciated.

of course you can. it is as simple as a direct swap. assuming your boot drive C: is a M.2 NVME ssd, since the 8930 board has only one M.2 slot, your data drive D: is probably a 2.5" sata ssd. just look for a new 2.5” 4 or 8 TB sata III ssd.
one thing to check before the swap is to make sure your bios sata operation is set at AHCI and not RAID. If it is RAID then you need to switch to AHCI, save change, then do some small command line codes to make pc boot in AHCI mode.

You should also consider just installing another drive. I assume you have another drive bay, so just add the drive. Assign it the next drive letter and you are good to go. Alternatively, you could add a USB External drive... might have slower access, but generally speaking, depending what you put on it, it would not make a material speed difference.
