XPS 8930, searching for compatible SSD internal drive, WD BLACK SN850X 1TB Internal SSD PCIe Gen 4 x4 NVMe
XPS 8930
My internal hard drive disappeared and troubleshooting did not help.
I am searching for a compatible SSD internal drive for my XPS8930
Is this compatible? WD - BLACK SN850X 1TB Internal SSD PCIe Gen 4 x4 NVMe with Heatsink for PS5 and Desktops
Does one just attach the connectors?

That SSD is compatible though I am not sure if you have a Gen 3 or Gen 4 slot. Either way it does not matter as the SSD is backward compatible with Gen 3. This support page describes the installation procedure. You do not attach connectors. The SSD slides into the M.2 slot then you use the supplied screw (it should be on the MB) and secure the drive. This YouTube video may help.

Do you know if there is a PCIe.M2 slot to put it in? Appreciate your help.

@JOcean Thank you. I do not wish to replace the 256 Gb SSD. I wish to replace the 1Tb HDD. Is there a slot I can put it in?

From the manual it appears there is only one M.2 SSD slot :(

@goodnewsforyou You are correct, there is only one M.2 slot.
