XPS 8930, new BIOS and what ?
I have a DELL XPS 8930 with an i7-8700K CPU and 64GB of memory. I upgraded from BIOS version 1.1.27 to 1.1.28 as instructed and then to 1.1.30.
What does this latest BIOS update bring? CPU? Memory ? Hard disk ?
Thank you for your answers.

There's a post by a Dell moderator in another recent XPS 8930 BIOS update thread saying: "None of the later BIOS added any hardware fixes."
So that doesn't sound like they will add any new hardware support, especially since the XPS 8930 is already 3 models behind. That said, XPS 8930 has always been upgradeable to a 9th Gen CPU vs the 8th Gen CPU you have now. But that may not be worth the cost vs any additional speed or capabilities you don't already have.
64-GB of RAM is max Dell validated in this PC model. Doesn't mean more won't work, but you'd have to search this forum to see if anyone has succeeded in using >64 GB.
You shouldn't have any issues with at least a 2T NVME SSD, and possibly a >4 GB SATA HDD, but there's a new thread today about issues getting a 12 GB HDD recognized in the XPS 8930, but not yet fully investigated.

According to the support page for the 8930. those BIOS updates are for security updates and vulnerabilities. However 1.1.29 also states the following:
Fixed the issue where you cannot update the BIOS when you install the Windows 11 22H2 Cumulative Update KB5019980 on your system.

Thank you for your reply.
After this BIOS update, what I am particularly interested in knowing is what new CPU, what memory, what SSD hard disk I can put?
Does the BIOS update bring the possibility to put newer components?

Hello,
I also have a 1TB SSD hard drive + other SATA hard drives.
So I don't see any big changes on my PC.
Perhaps add a 10 Gb ASUS XG-C100F network card to it.
Thank you for your previous response.
