XPS 8930, getting HTTP 504 on some sites but not others, wired
XPS 8930
Suddenly I'm getting HTTP 504 Gateway timeouts on many sites while a few sites still come right up. Wired. Other computers on this wired router are doing OK. Wifi on this computer is OK. Speed test download is 400+mbps but upload is only 2-3 mbps. Happening on Edge and Chrome but NOT Firefox! Have done browser resets, no help. Dell Network diagnostic terminates Warning - unexpected error. I'm suspecting Killer E2400 Ethernet Controller but some sites work and Firefox works. Confusing.

Glad that helped!
Now also check to make sure the Killer Control Center app isn't loading at every boot. You can look on Startup tab in Task Manager, if it's listed there.

For starters, click Start>Run>services.msc and click OK.
When services.msc opens, find all the Killer (and xTend, if any) services listed. Double-click each one to open it and set its Startup Type to disabled. When all are disabled, close services.msc and reboot.
If nothing else, that should fix you terrible 2-3 mbps upload speeds, which is a common issue with Killer software. Then see if you're still getting 504 errors.
NOTE: You don't need any of those Killer (and xTend) services running. Keep in mind that Windows Update can automatically install Killer updates -disguised as Intel Updates which owns Killer. Their updates re-enable the Killer and xTend services. So if internet speeds take another dive, first thing is to open services.msc again and make sure all the Killer (and xTend) services are disabled.

That may have fixed it. The Upload speed is now 20+mbps, same as my laptop. It seems like most of the sites that were very slow (>30s) are now much quicker. I'll try running like this for a few days. THANKS! I have been pulling my hair out trying to isolate the cause.
