XPS 8930, Dell.CoreServices.Client using excess amout of memory
I am posting this to reopen a case with problem that exits with Dell.CoreServices.Client using excess memory when using Dell SupportAssist and Dell Display Periphial Manager. Core services creeps up in memory usage while using either of the two apps. Latest version of DDPM was just released yesterday and did not fix the issue. Total memory usage on my XPS 8930 with 16 GB mem is up to 98% at times.

Just installed DDPM 2.1.0.23 which was just released today. So far everything looks good but I would like to keep it running for a while and see if problem is solved.

Hi everyone,
Thanks for sharing your experiences and feedback regarding the DellCoreServicesClient and memory usage concerns.
To help us narrow down the root cause, we’d like to ask you to try the following steps:
Please ensure you have the most recent version installed. You can download it from the Dell Support site.
After updating, monitor your system to see if the memory usage issue persists.
Once you've completed the test, please reinstall the latest version of DDPM and let us know if the issue returns.
Your feedback on this process will help us better understand the behavior and work toward a resolution. Please share your results in this thread once you've completed the steps.
Thank you for your cooperation and patience!

@DELL-Nat M
This is the same answer on all threads regarding this issue. You're probably a bot, but I'll answer anyway, to see if this gets to someone real.
It's really annoying that you at Dell are asking customers to act like testers of your software. I've already seen many posts talking about this, so it's obviously a software problem on your side.
Today it's the third time my computer freezes while I'm working, and when I go check, it's Dell.CoreServices.Client using all memory available. Really, really annoying!!!
Don't ask customers to uninstall, restart, reinstall, keep checking, etc. We are not paid to keep wasting time testing your software. Go figure and fix it yourselves!

Hey there,
I totally get where you're coming from, and just to clarify, I’m definitely not a bot. Since this is a community forum and we’ve seen quite a few posts about this issue, we sometimes ask for the same info across threads just to keep things consistent and make it easier to track what’s going on.
That said, this is a user-to-user space, and while I’m a Dell employee, I’m not part of the support team. I’m here to help share updates and insights from our engineering teams when I can. When an issue affects different systems or setups, gathering more details really helps the team figure out what’s going on and whether a single fix can work for everyone.
I completely understand that it’s frustrating to deal with repeated freezes, especially when you’re just trying to get work done. If your system is still under warranty, I recommend clicking on Get Help Now (located in the bottom-right corner of this page) to connect with a Dell support agent. They can walk you through troubleshooting steps directly, so you can get more personalized assistance and move things forward more quickly.
Let’s also try to keep things respectful here so we can continue helping each other out.

@DELL-Nat M I have done what you requested:
1. Installed DDPM 2.1.0.20
2. Memory issue persists
3. Uninstalled DDPM, rebooted. Memory issue persists
4. Reinstalled DDPM. Memory issue persists.
At this point I have uninstalled DDPM once again. But Dell.CoreServices.Client continues to run and cause the memory issue. In order to stop this I have disabled Dell.TechHub. This stops Dell.CoreServices.Client from running. When I want to use Dell SupportAssist I will now have to enable the Dell.TechHub first, run Dell SupportAssist then once again disable Dell.TechHub.

I had this problem, too.
For me it was solved "accidentally" after all suggestions by DELL did not work.
I updated the service program "Dell Command | Update".
With version 5.5.0 installed everything is running smoothly again.

@Bernhard1956 you say you updated so I guess that means the Dell Command Update was already installed on your system as it is not on mine. My system is an XPS 8930 and I am not sure if this is compatible with the DCU app since I get that notice that this article does not apply to the XPS 8930. Hopefully someone from Dell can advise whether or not to use it.

It's been a few hours now and everything is still running smooth. At this point I would have to say that DDPM 2.1.0.23 has solved the problem.
