XPS 8930, BIOS 1.1.31 update failure
Have not updated BIOS for years (currently on 1.1.24). Running Windows 11. I've read the long exchanges about Bios update problems and solutions and have repeatedly tried nearly all. I have bios vers 1.1.31 on FAT32 flash drive. When I go through the F12 boot process and select Flash bios, it takes me to the BIOS Flash Update Screen and I see the 1.1.31 file (see screen pic). BUT, I cannot navigate to the "Flash Upgrade" link. The keyboard and mouse only allow switching between FS0 and FS1 and the a pop-up "Exit Yes/No". Have also tried the Windows update approach but always get the "Secure Flash check failure" error message. Have tried both approaches using Legacy boot. Please, any suggestions/solutions. Also, is the FS0 vs FS1 important. This all started when I tried to upgrade the NVME ssd. Hoping the BIOS upgrade will make that possible. THANKS for any assistance.

Absolutely. The 1.1.31 on a UEFI TYPE Bios did not flash either but with the same error. What happens to me is when I restart/off-on it takes a while 5 minutes, but never allows me to use the F2 enter BIOS key and always goes straight to the Login splash Windows screen to get into Windows 11. So, I thought I'd download this 1.1.31 to flash the Bios and correct the situation. Having a Win11 USB flash drive is no good to recover if I cannot get it to boot into the Bios and select the USB UEFI to boot to it. DELL should tell us the fix for such an issue

Don't know if it was a lightbulb or just dumb luck, but I finally got the BIOS update to load. Reread a number of posts, undid most or all the changes I had tried on setup. Followed a Dell tutorial for Windows loading and it worked. I had copied the bios .exe file to the os drive but still had the flash drive copy still attached. So not sure if copying to os made any difference. THANKS for the helpful reply.
