XPS 8910, GPU upgrade suggestions?
XPS 8910
Would like to upgrade existing GPU on my XPS 8910 desktop. Currently have GTX-960 and a 460 watt power supply. Looking for recommendation for GPU and power supply upgrades that would work for this desktop. The CPU is: Intel Core i7-6700 CPU @4.00GHz. Any suggestions as to GPU and power supply upgrades that would work well with this would be greatly appreciated.

Lots of threads about upgrading the GPU in XPS 8910.
Lots of posts on userbenchmark.com for GPUs working in XPS 8910. NOTE: that site doesn't list PSU size in any of those PCs. So just because someone is using a certain GPU doesn't mean it will work with your 460 W PSU. Be sure to check manufacturer's specs for the exact GPU you may want to see what the recommended PSU size is for their card.
And don't forget, you'll probably have to disable Secure Boot in BIOS setup before installing a new GPU. Otherwise, the PC probably won't boot...

Fortunately, the XPS 8910 uses a standard ATX power supply. You can find them available everywhere. To help out, I selected a few for suggestions:
For a perfect fit as OEM, you can try Seasonic FOCUS Plus 750W Gold.
For a highly rated performance, consider a well known EVGA Super Nova G5 with 850W.
For a name brands with reliable performance, check out the Corsair RM850x (old model).
Upgrading graphics card would required two main factors, chassis fitments and power requirements. Once you have upgraded the PSU, you can select a suitable graphics card for your needs, and budget. Something that will work well with the XPS 8910 is RTX 3060 TI.

Thanks for that info. With that being said, if I was to upgrade PSU would this desktop be able to run the
RX 6700 XT which would provide a higher performance jump?

Be sure to get a variant card with the fitments. With PSU upgrade, it should work. A 230w RX 6700 XT would certainly give a big performance boost from a GTX 960 for GPU intensive applications.

@RoHe I have a question, if I disable secure boot and can boot into windows and then run driver update from either amd or microsoft. Does that provide digital signature that will allow the gpu to be trusted by mobo? And then after can I switch back to enabling secure boot?
thank you

@jeff_from_toronto - Probably not because the "database" to say what's "trusted" is stored on a chip in the PC. So just because you get a driver from Microsoft or AMD, doesn't necessarily mean the combo of board+driver will be accepted.
That said, it can't hurt to try. Get PC booting with Secure Boot disabled. Then download/install the latest driver for that specific GPU from AMD. Reboot and if everything works ok, re-enable Secure Boot in BIOS setup and see if PC will still boot. If not, just go back int BIOS setup and disable Secure Boot again...
