XPS 8500, hard drive error
Really hope someone is able to help. I have XPS 8500 Windows10 (out of warranty). Starts and can enter screen lock passcode, but then just hangs forever and eventually have to power off. Ran pre-boot diagnostics and showed hard drive error, code 2000-0142. I've been unable to boot in safe mode, WinRE does not load and no power icon on my welcome screen. So cannot Restart.
No tecchy so hoping for some plain simple advice! Many thanks!

The hard drive has failed and needs to be replaced.
If there is data on the drive, once that is done and Windows has been reloaded, you can try attaching the failed drive as a secondary to see if you can still read at least some of the data files from it.
